With 75% of companies citing cloud security as major concern in a 2020 Cloud Security Report published online by Check Point and Cybersecurity Insiders, the need for expertise is growing. Qualified staff were reported by 55% of respondents as a barrier to cloud adoption. Synthesis Software Technologies, an innovative software development and consulting company, has been addressing the security needs of enterprises across industries to eliminate this concern.
Synthesis has recently attained the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency. This adds to the company’s announcement of securing the AWS Microsoft Workloads Competency and Synthesis’ growing list of AWS Competency designations.
This achievement showcases Synthesis commitment to elevate and enhance its clients’ security posture in the cloud. A select number of AWS Partners that have achieved the AWS Security Competency have proven technical security proficiency and have demonstrated capability with a number of secure cloud implementations. Synthesis achieved the AWS Security Competency after qualifying through a rigorous process to meet AWS’s criteria.
This additional Competency demonstrates Synthesis’ commitment to helping enterprises and “born and in the cloud” companies across industries in Africa and beyond to seize the benefits of cloud coupled with the highest levels of security. “We have found that clients often battle to unlock the true benefits of cloud and security is no exception. From years of experience working with banks where security is non-negotiable, we have developed cloud best practices. This experience allows us to set up controls for success and to pinpoint potential problems before they arise and fix them,” explains Matthew Gaskell, Synthesis Security Analyst.
Synthesis is a committed AWS Partner and was among the first AWS Advanced Consulting Partners in Africa. Synthesis was also among the first APN Partners from the region to achieve the AWS Financial Services Competency and the AWS DevOps Competency designations. In addition, the company is already an AWS SaaS Partner, with expertise in offering AWS Partner Network (APN) Immersion Days, and conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews. This is supported by the company’s dedicated team of cloud experts who have over 150 AWS certifications and growing.
Gaskell says: “We at Synthesis regard security as job zero in all our projects and to receive recognition from AWS is fantastic. I am extremely proud of the Synthesis team’s accomplishment in achieving the AWS Security Competency. The AWS Security Competency validates our proficiency in the cloud security space, specifically in implementing security controls for existing or new workloads. We look forward to driving security with clients on these initiatives and in continually helping them realise value in their cloud journeys.”
“The Synthesis team has shown an outstanding commitment to expanding our AWS Competency designations to service our clients with the greatest expertise. Security has always been a priority at Synthesis to ensure that our clients’ rapidly evolving cloud landscape is always protected. At every stage of the cloud journey from migration to optimisation to innovation to managed services, security is always at the forefront of our solutions, “says Michael Shapiro, Synthesis Managing Director.
AWS enables scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from start-ups to global enterprises. To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Competency Program to help customers identify AWS Consulting and Technology Partners with deep industry experience and expertise.
