Pioneering the Vehicle Tracking and Stolen Vehicle Recovery Company Streamlines Panic Event Classification

Using Machine Learning and Data Streaming to optimise emergency contact centre operations. 1.6 million vehicles update locations as they move all over the world. These updates are made as frequently as once per second or as infrequently as four times an hour. 

Solution

Synthesis deployed an Intelligent Operational System using state-of-the-art Azure elements, into the company’s production environment to ingest the full stream of events for vehicles. The system is self-learning and can route panic events through business workflows.

Benefit

  • Models and behaviours are discovered automatically.
  • All events and locations for every vehicle are processed in a stream. 
  • Panic events are prioritised faster, false alarms are reduced, and no alarms are missed.
  • Pressure on Emergency Contact Centre staff is reduced as they can focus on priority events.  
  • Automatable responses are identified appropriately.

Results

  • The intelligent platform determined that only 1% of all incoming cases were live (actual danger) cases.
  • Synthesis identified 25 potentially distinct behaviours related to panic events. One business scenario can be linked to multiple patterns, enabling tailored responses.
  • Incoming panic events are classified in real time; no events are missed, and all event processing details are logged.
